Changelog

v1.1.312.09.2026

AdvancedFriends
Update — v1.1.3
A major quality-of-life update introducing native Minecraft dialog screens.
―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――

★ What's New in v1.1.3

🖼 Paper Dialog API (1.21.7+)
On Paper 1.21.7+ servers, the plugin now automatically detects the native Minecraft Dialog API and replaces chat prompts and inventory GUIs with clean, native dialog screens. On Spigot or older Paper builds everything falls back to the legacy GUI with zero configuration needed.

The following interactions now open as dialogs on Paper 1.21.7+:
  • /friend add — text input field to enter the player name
  • /friend remove — confirmation dialog instead of the double-command step
  • /friend list — full friend list with online/offline status, favorites at the top, click any entry to open their profile
  • Friend profile — per-friend actions screen with message, teleport, favorite toggle, note editor and remove
  • /friend requests — all pending requests listed with individual Accept and Deny buttons
  • Incoming friend request — notification opens as a dialog with Accept / Deny
  • /friend tp — confirmation dialog before sending the request
  • Incoming teleport request — Accept / Deny dialog on the target's screen
  • /friend block — confirmation dialog before blocking
  • /friend note — text input field with the current note pre-filled
  • /friend settings — four checkboxes replacing the inventory GUI
  • Private message (from actions menu) — text input field
  • Party invite notification — Accept / Decline dialog
🔧 Bug Fix — SQLite Native Library
Fixed a startup crash on Java 21 servers caused by SQLite's native library failing to load after relocation. The driver relocation has been removed and the JDBC class reference corrected — no data loss, no migration needed.

✦ Overview

AdvancedFriends is a fully self-contained friends plugin — no dependencies required beyond the server itself. It ships with a friends system, a built-in party system, private messaging, teleportation requests, a paginated GUI, join/leave notifications, and PlaceholderAPI support, all configurable down to every message and sound. On Paper 1.21.7+, all interactions automatically upgrade to native Minecraft dialog screens.

✦ Features

👥 Friends System
Send, accept and deny friend requests. Requests expire after a configurable timeout. Set a per-server max friend limit or remove it entirely. Removing a friend requires confirmation — run the command twice within 10 seconds to prevent accidents.

🎉 Built-in Party System
No external party plugin needed. Create parties, invite players, kick members, transfer leadership and disband — all through /friend party. The entire party system can be disabled server-wide from config.yml without touching any other feature.

💬 Party Chat
Send a one-off message to your party with /friend party chat <msg>, or enable always-on mode with /friend party chat always so every message you type goes straight to the party. Disable anytime with /friend party chat disable.

✉ Private Messaging
Send private messages to any online friend with /fmsg <player> <msg>. Only mutual friends can message each other — no strangers, no spam.

⟶ Teleport Requests
Send a teleport request to any online friend. A configurable warmup delay ticks down before the teleport fires — moving cancels it automatically. Each player can toggle teleport requests on or off independently.

🖥 Friends GUI
A paginated, skull-based inventory showing all your friends with clear online and offline indicators. Click any friend to open their dedicated actions menu.

◆ Friend Actions Menu
Clicking a friend in the GUI opens a clean actions screen with dedicated buttons for every action — message, teleport request, party invite, favorite toggle and remove. No more memorizing which click does what.

⭐ Favorites
Mark any friend as a favorite with a gold star. Favorites always appear at the top of your friend list and dialog, above online and offline players.

✎ Friend Notes
Attach a personal note to any friend — a reminder of how you met, their alt accounts, anything. Notes are private and visible in the friend actions menu and dialog tooltip.

🚫 Block System
Block any player to stop them from sending you friend requests. Blocked players are hidden from each other across the entire friend system. Manage your list with /friend block, /friend unblock and /friend blocklist.

🤝 Mutual Friends
See exactly which friends you share with any player using /friend mutual <player>. Shows online and offline status for each mutual friend.

⚙ Settings GUI
A dedicated /friend settings screen lets every player manage their own preferences visually — friend requests, join/leave notifications, teleport requests and party invites, each toggled independently.

🔔 Join / Leave Notifications
Friends are notified whenever you join or leave the server. Each player can toggle this on or off from their settings without affecting anything else.

📊 PlaceholderAPI Support
6 ready-to-use placeholders for scoreboards, tab lists and holograms. PlaceholderAPI is a soft-depend — the plugin works perfectly without it.

🗄 SQLite Storage
Zero-config persistent storage with the JDBC driver shaded directly into the jar — no external database setup needed. All read and write operations run asynchronously, the main thread is never blocked.

🎨 Fully Configurable
Every message, prefix, sound and colour is editable in config.yml. Supports legacy &codes, hex &#RRGGBB and <gradient:#start:#end> gradient tags throughout.

🖼 Paper Dialog API (1.21.7+)
On Paper 1.21.7+ the plugin automatically detects the Dialog API and replaces chat prompts and GUIs with native Minecraft dialog screens — friend list with profile management, add/remove confirmations, incoming requests, teleport dialogs, block confirmations, note editor, settings checkboxes and private message composer. On Spigot or older Paper everything falls back to the legacy GUI with zero configuration.

🔄 Update Checker
Checks SpigotMC for new versions on startup and notifies online OPs with a download link.
